Attorney Nic Edgson brings the discipline, focus, teamwork and accountability he learned as a college and professional football player to his career as a top personal injury attorney. In June, Edgson was named managing attorney and CEO of Big Auto Accident Attorneys, an Arizona-based law firm with a national team of top car and truck accident co-counseling attorneys.
The opportunity to build an expert legal team at Big Auto Accident Attorneys attracted Edgson to the firm. “I jumped at the possibility of working in and helping to manage a business-centric law firm that is innovative, focused and efficient,” Edgson said. The Big Auto Accident Attorneys team consists of some of the best minds in law and business, he said, including J. Keith Givens, who has over 35 years of experience as a civil trial lawyer and who has earned over $1 billion in case verdicts for his clients, and author, speaker and legal innovator John Nachazel of the Mike Morse Law firm. “We’ve also added paralegals and intake and client service specialists to build a team with experience and compassion,” he said.

The son of a lawyer, Edgson served as a judicial law clerk early in his career, where he learned to understand how a judge reads and interprets the facts. The experience helped shape his career. “Seeing the other side of the bench taught me to be very specific and to get to the point quickly with no fluff — to find the legal issue and address it. That’s crucial to the outcome of a case,” he said.
Edgson’s decision to specialize in personal injury accident cases came in the aftermath of one of his first cases as an attorney, which involved a family of seven killed in a head-on collision with a truck. “The devastation and trauma heightened my view of the law through a human lens,” he said. “I learned that heart and compassion go a long way in handling, settling and winning cases. You have to treat clients like family.” The case made a lasting impression and gave Edgson a keen understanding of how vehicle accidents and deaths shatter families.
Edgson has represented thousands of clients and recovered more than $50 million fighting for compensation for their injuries and medical bills. His skill and winning record have earned his recognition as a Top 40 Under 40 attorney from The National Trial Lawyers and selection as a member in the Top 10 Trucking, Top 25 Brain Injury and Top 25 Motor Vehicle attorneys by the Trial Lawyers Association.
Collaboration and teamwork are Edgson’s professional focus at Big Auto and a major drive in his personal life as well. The father of five boys ages 2 to 12, Edgson is a coach and mentor to his own kids and others in the Phoenix community. “I’m on the field every week, coaching, supporting and cheering them on. I have a passion for supporting youth sports in general, but especially for coaching kids who don’t have the same opportunities that I had.”
